Contagious?

I think I’m a little obsessed at times with some of my interests. I also think I’m contagious as shown by the pictures. My “sister” made this little bed, coat & scarf for Zoby. I was going to tell her she was crazy for making things for a beanbag zebra but I was afraid that Zoby might hear me…

Oh yes, she also made him a teddy bear (see in top picture). She is crazy!

America’s Plight

Zoby & I were having a discussion on why the most advanced, prosperous country in the world was sinking to such great depths. He said we’re not lacking in resources sitting as we are on the largest oil deposits in the world, or freedom since he could go to college, or work or be a stay at home zebra & no one would hinder him in any of these ventures. We agreed that it was purely power mad politics. Why else would all true job opportunities be denied or given to other countries (ex. oil drilling going to Brazil & pipeline going to Canada, production of areas of Apple Corp. Going over seas, etc?) If we are crippled enough we will have to rely on government whether we like it or not. We’re losing the middle class slowly but surely. Soon it will be rich or poor only. Why is it big businesses & the rich (the ones providing most of our jobs) need to be taxed to the hilt when congressional members earning millions are exempt? Just saying. We need to get out as a people much like the colonists did with England and revolt. I feel if they ignore our voices & votes we need to physically do something like throw them out. Zoby says I’m an extremist but he’ s sympathetic to my feelings. I did notice that he couldn’t name an option at this time. In case you didn’t recognize him, that’s Zoby below. He usually wears glasses when we have these talks because there’s usually reading involved.

Crafty Friends

A shout out to my friend Ryan Brautigam for making a duct tape wallet for Zoby. He even personalized it with his name! Ryan included a slot for cards & it opens with a slot for cash! Zoby is tickled about it & says that Ryan is his new best friend!

“Someone” was hoping I’d catch the hint & take him to work with me. It worked. When they look this cute how do you say no?

Happy on The Homefront Again

Zoby made his peace with me finally. I told him that the toys I got for Christmas were for him from his aunt & uncle. He had a lot of fun with the Lego set as you can see.

He got a kick out of the little kaleidescope too.

I don’t usually give in to sulking but I was wrong to forget taking him with me so we’re good with this.

Still Sulking Zebra

image

Last week I went to Illinois to visit the kids & I was supposed to bring Zoby so he could visit his cousins. In the hustle to leave, guess who was left behind? Now I have a still sulky zebra even after a week & many apologies. He is ignoring me here by pretending to be reading my new book, Pearls Before Swine

I tried 3 times to get his picture to send to his cousins, Guiseppi, Freddie & Perfect but he kept turning away from the camera so this is the best I could do. Sorry guys. Lesson to learn from this is when you go to visit family, don’t forget & leave your kid behind!

Really Neat Billboard

image

One of the best billboards I’ve seen in a long time. I saw this on my drive home from Illinois this past weekend. I guess it’s an ad for a new movie. Don’t really care just glad to see such a fanciful zebra billboard.

Zedonk or Zonkey?

Isn’t she adorable? She is named Pippi Longstocking for obvious reasons. This little girl is a cross between a donkey and a zebra. I want one!

Working Overtime, Blessing or Curse?

Zebra style

I wanted overtime for a lonnnng time and now that I have it I have to wonder if paying bills is really that important. Between a full time job, part-time job and overtime today is my first day off in 14 days and I’m too tired to do anything even though the house needs cleaned and Beans (my cat) is insisting she needs fed!  I don’t know who penned the above pic but I can relate to how he feels!

The Beginning

This is Zoby having his morning coffee with me. He’s only allowed coffee on my days off work as he gets too hyper from the caffeine and would be chasing the cat if I wasn’t there to stop him.  Zoby and I met at a small gift shop about 15 years ago. When I found out he was alone and had no where to go I invited him to live with me and it has worked out well for both of us. Oh, I might add that he is a distant cousin of Guiseppi from Kirinjirafa (see: http://kirinjirafa.wordpress.com/)
